RentSomeTotes is a service operated by Big River Enterprises, LLC. All rentals made through rentsometotes.com are subject to the following terms and conditions.

1. Service Area

RentSomeTotes currently provides service in the following areas:

  • Illinois: Quincy, Augusta, Barry, Basco, Baylis, Bowen, Camp Point, Carthage, Clayton, Coatsburg, Colusa, Ferris, Golden, Hamilton, Hull, Kinderhook, Loraine, Macomb, Mendon, Mount Sterling, Nauvoo, New Canton, Payson, Pittsfield, Plainville, Plymouth, Sutter, Tennessee, Ursa, Versailles, Warsaw
  • Missouri: Hannibal, Alexandria, Canton, La Grange, Palmyra, Taylor
  • Iowa: Keokuk

Delivery fees may apply depending on location and will be disclosed during booking or prior to delivery.

2. Access to Property

The renter authorizes Big River Enterprises, LLC to enter the delivery and pickup address provided by the renter for the purpose of delivering and retrieving rental equipment at the scheduled times.

The renter is responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to the property for delivery and pickup. If access is blocked, unsafe, or otherwise unavailable, additional fees may apply.

3. Ownership of Equipment

All totes, dollies, and other rental equipment remain the sole property of Big River Enterprises, LLC at all times. The renter may not sublease, loan, sell, transfer, or otherwise allow the equipment to be used by another party without written permission.

4. Responsibility for Totes

The renter acknowledges that all rented totes are in the renter's care, custody, and control while in the renter's possession. The renter is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to the totes during the rental period.

If any tote is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond normal wear and tear, the renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost of $35.00 per tote. Replacement costs are subject to change without notice.

5. Labels, Tape, and Markings

The renter may not place permanent labels, stickers, adhesive, writing, or markings on any tote. Only labels or tape that can be removed easily without heat, chemicals, scraping, or damage are permitted.

If a tote is permanently marked or damaged by labels, tape, writing, or adhesive residue, the renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost of $35.00 per tote. If labels or residue can be removed but require additional cleaning, the renter may be charged a $5.00 per tote cleaning fee.

6. Responsibility for 4-Wheel Dollies

If provided, the renter acknowledges that all 4-wheel dollies are in the renter's care, custody, and control while in the renter's possession. The renter is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to the 4-wheel dollies during the rental period.

If a 4-wheel dolly is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond normal wear and tear, the renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost of $75.00 per dolly. Replacement costs are subject to change without notice.

7. Responsibility for 2-Wheel Dollies

If provided, the renter acknowledges that all 2-wheel dollies are in the renter's care, custody, and control while in the renter's possession. The renter is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to the 2-wheel dollies during the rental period.

If a 2-wheel dolly is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond normal wear and tear, the renter agrees to pay the full replacement cost of $50.00 per dolly. Replacement costs are subject to change without notice.

8. Proper Use of Equipment

Rental equipment must be used only for ordinary household or business moving and storage purposes unless otherwise approved in writing by Big River Enterprises, LLC.

Totes and equipment may not be used for:

  • Construction debris
  • Hazardous, flammable, toxic, or illegal materials
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Excessive weight beyond normal intended use
  • Outdoor storage without reasonable protection from weather and damage

The renter is responsible for any damage resulting from improper use.

9. Equipment Condition and Pickup Requirements

The renter agrees to return all totes, dollies, and other rental equipment empty and in reasonably clean condition at the time of pickup.

A cleaning fee may be charged for equipment returned excessively dirty, containing trash, food, liquid residue, strong odors, or other substances requiring additional cleaning or making the equipment unsuitable for immediate reuse.

10. Scheduling and Appointment Changes

The renter is responsible for scheduling delivery and pickup appointments and for being available at the agreed-upon times.

If the renter needs to reschedule a delivery or pickup appointment, at least 24 hours' notice is required. Failure to provide at least 24 hours' notice may result in a $25.00 rescheduling fee.

11. Missed Deliveries and Late Pickups

If no one is available to accept delivery at the scheduled time, the renter may be charged a redelivery fee equal to the original delivery fee for their order (minimum $25.00).

If the equipment is not ready for pickup at the scheduled time, or if pickup cannot be completed due to the renter's failure to empty, gather, or make the equipment accessible, the renter may be charged a $25.00 late fee per day until all equipment is returned or made available for pickup.

12. Rental Period and Additional Time

Rental fees apply only to the initial rental period selected at checkout and must be paid in full before delivery unless otherwise agreed.

If the renter keeps the equipment beyond the initial rental period, additional rental charges may apply at a rate of $0.75 per tote or dolly, per day, unless otherwise stated on the website or agreed to in writing.

Rental rates, delivery fees, late fees, cleaning fees, and replacement costs are subject to change without notice.

13. Condition of Equipment

Big River Enterprises, LLC warrants that the rental equipment will be in usable condition at the time of delivery. If the renter believes any equipment is damaged, defective, or unusable at the time of delivery, the renter must notify RentSomeTotes promptly.

The company's responsibility is limited to repair or replacement of the rental equipment, at its sole discretion.

14. Payment Authorization

By placing an order — whether as a registered customer or a guest — the renter authorizes Big River Enterprises, LLC to keep the renter's payment method on file for the duration of the rental period and for up to 30 days following the scheduled pickup date. The renter authorizes Big River Enterprises, LLC to charge that payment method for rental fees, delivery fees, late fees, redelivery fees, cleaning fees, replacement costs, damage fees, or any other charges permitted under this agreement.

This authorization applies regardless of whether the renter creates an account or checks out as a guest. The renter's payment information is securely stored by our payment processor (Stripe) and is never stored directly on our servers.

15. Privacy

Big River Enterprises, LLC values your privacy. We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as necessary to process orders, provide services, comply with legal obligations, or enforce these terms.

16. Assumption of Risk and Indemnification

The renter assumes all responsibility for the possession, use, and return of the rented equipment and agrees to use the equipment safely and in a reasonable manner.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Big River Enterprises, LLC, its owners, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of or related to the renter's possession, use, misuse, storage, or return of the equipment.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Big River Enterprises, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to the rental or use of its equipment.

In no event shall the total liability of Big River Enterprises, LLC, its owners, officers, employees, or agents to the renter, whether arising from contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, exceed the total rental fees paid by the renter for the specific rental order giving rise to the claim. The renter acknowledges that this limitation is a material part of this agreement and that rental fees would be substantially higher without it.

18. No Liability for Renter's Property or Personal Injury

Big River Enterprises, LLC is not responsible or liable for any damage to, loss of, or destruction of the renter's property, the contents placed in the totes, or any items transported, stored, or moved using the rental equipment, regardless of the cause, including but not limited to equipment failure, defects, breakage, weather, theft, or third-party actions.

The renter further acknowledges that moving and the use of dollies, totes, and related equipment carries inherent risks of personal injury and property damage. The renter assumes all such risks. Big River Enterprises, LLC is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage, or loss arising from the renter's use, handling, loading, unloading, transportation, or storage of the rental equipment, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Big River Enterprises, LLC.

19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or related to this agreement, the rental equipment, or any services provided by Big River Enterprises, LLC shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Adams County, Illinois, and the renter consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

20. Right to Refuse Service

Big River Enterprises, LLC reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or terminate any rental at its sole discretion, including in cases of suspected misuse, non-payment, prior policy violations, unsafe delivery conditions, or any other reason permitted by law. Any prepaid rental fees for a refused or terminated order will be refunded on a prorated basis, less any applicable fees, charges, or costs already incurred.

21. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order through rentsometotes.com, the renter confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Rental Policy and Terms of Service. The renter further represents and warrants that they are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
